  • REGISTER BY: Extended!

This retreat is meant to bring moms and daughters together for a “girls’ weekend” atmosphere of cozy fires, long walks, good food, camaraderie with other women, and long-overdue space to talk about the important things in life.

We will start with talks on the basic underpinnings of the Theology of the Body and then crack open it’s specific application for women. Topics will include individual temperaments and love languages, making a gift of our lives as unrepeatable persons, what it looks like to be a strong woman (using examples of the saints), fascinating facts about our body chemistry, and a basic understanding of fertility (NFP) so that our beautiful bodies are not quite so unnerving as they daily change!

Please inquire if you would like more details about the retreat schedule or topics that will be covered! You may also find it helpful to visit our FAQ page!

GETTING OUTSIDE…
Getting out into the original Cathedral of the outdoors and away from electronics allows time to chew on discussion topics as well as space to be with God and each other. This retreat will entail both time indoors (listening to talks) and time outdoors for exploring, hiking, etc. The beauty of Camp Gray is that it’s 1 mile from the state park, so getting on the trails or to the lake is just a matter of picking up a park pass!

RETREAT ELEMENTS…
Talks, discussion times, Mass and Eucharistic Adoration will be woven into each day – though the timing will vary and sometimes will be discerned as weather unfolds. We will have a priest with us for the weekend to cover these Eucharistic elements and to be available for confession. You are encouraged to take off your watch and receive all that the Lord has for you during this retreat!

Please do not bring electronic devices and put your phone completely away during the retreat; we want you to experience the beautiful person(s) you came with and the great outdoors without distraction! If your phone is your camera, make sure it is on airplane mode and scale back on how many pictures you take (savor the moments in person)! If you believe your phone will be a temptation, we are happy to hold it for you with the expectation that it will not be used unless there is an emergency or you want a few pictures.

TIMING…
To get the most out of your retreat weekend, please plan to join us for the entire retreat, from 5 pm on Thursday to 1:30 pm on Sunday. A friendly tip: take the extra time on Thursday and Sunday to explore other highlights along your drive! This will be a good warm up to enter in and a good time to process on the way home.

LODGING or CAMPING…
Participants may choose to stay in lodging on the grounds of Camp Gray or camp in Mirror Lake State Park; see the rate difference under the ‘costs’ tab.

You will note when making reservations at Mirror Lake that only certain campgrounds are available at that time of year and that water may be turned off for the season; there are pit toilets in the campground but you also may use the showers and flush toilets at Camp Gray while enjoying the adventure of sleeping outside in the fall! Camp Gray was chosen for our retreat to bring us into close community as women. Though there are many spaces to hang out around camp (including a couple fireplaces, sitting rooms, a large dining room, and a gymnasium with rock climbing), our bedrooms are shared and contain multiple beds. Agile young ladies can take the top bunks while moms take the bottom; think of it as camping – but with a bed and a roof over your head!

MEALS…
Meals will be provided for all participants by Camp Gray (regardless of lodging or camping) from Thursday evening to Sunday lunch. We can accommodate most allergies or sensitivities but please have a direct conversation with us when you first register.
