I.D. Retreats are the specifically outdoor retreats that are offered through Into the DeepInfusing outdoor adventures with Theology of the Body insight, I.D. Retreats bring the unique mission and vision of Into the Deep out to a setting we were made for.

Though Into the Deep also offers indoor retreats, bringing the Theology of the Body discussion outside has an impact that is hard to parallel.  In our culture, beauty has been twisted and silence is all too rare.  For many, there is a gap between the physical and spiritual realms – one is attended to while the other is brushed aside.  I.D. Retreats are about interior and exterior adventures.  That means exercising our minds and hearts by asking the big questions – but not leaving our bodies unchallenged on the sidelines.

Encountering God through Mass, Eucharistic adoration, and the original cathedral of the outdoors is an ideal way to engage, challenge, and integrate body and soul.  Into the Deep invites you to learn your story and ask the big questions of life in a space that allows for contemplation, listening to God, and learning to make a gift of yourself.  Take the time and space to absorb Theology of the Body insights through an unrepeatable experience that will engage your mind, heart, and body.

Each year, several standard trip-retreats will be offered (see the CALENDAR!), but they can also be customized for individual Churches or groups.  Check out the sample trip-retreats and call or inquire for more information!

2015  SUMMER  I.D. RETREAT SCHEDULE

Rocky Mountain Hiking Retreat, July 15 – 19

This retreat is geared for men and women (age 18 and up) who want the challenge of trusting in the Lord and receiving all that He offers – be it through circumstances of life, daily weather, the people around us, or even the gift of forgiveness. Our conversations and prayer time on this trip-retreat will center around a baseline understanding of the Theology of the Body, our individual unrepeatability, the anatomy of trust, receptivity, and understanding the vocation to love as well as the vowed Vocations available to us. Our time away from phones and computers will allow us to break from our ties to electronics, talk to one another, and receive the plan the Lord has for us.  Hikes will vary from 5 to 10 miles per day.

High School Canoeing Retreat in Voyageurs National Park , July 27 – July 31

If you have ever wanted to try canoe camping without having to carry gear on your back, this is the entry level trip for you! We will be driving from Minneapolis to Crane Lake (Minnesota), then canoeing to a basecamp from which we will explore nearby areas. The group will canoe a few hours each day, with very light hiking over rocky terrain at our destinations.  Fishing (& thus fish dinners!) is encouraged!

Participants should have a desire to enter into an understanding of the Theology of the Body and how to apply it in everyday life; discussions will be started by Jen but fueled by your questions and God’s promptings through our natural surroundings. We will be accompanied by a priest in order to participate in daily Mass and Eucharistic adoration. This trip is open to young men and women, entering 9th through 12th grade; limit of 20 participants.

.

Middle School Ladies’ Hiking Retreats:
